What makes our approach to therapy unique?
We offer innovative approaches that go beyond traditional talk therapy. Through a process individualized to each client, therapy can take many forms such as meditation, writing, art, music, yoga, and movement. These expressive forms of communication offer new ways of accessing deep aspects of one’s experience in order to better gain self-awareness and perspective. Our specialties are providing mental health for marginalized communities, treating trauma, and utilizing expressive arts and social justice frameworks within therapy. |
How do I know whether Expressive Arts Place is the right fit for me, my relationship, my child, or my family?
We encourage each client to take the lead in their search to find the right provider's office for their care. Before beginning counseling services, interested individuals must complete an interest form and schedule a 20 minute consultation with a member of our team. The consultation is an opportunity to learn more about our services and our approach to therapy as well as discuss your unique needs and how we might most effectively support your care. |
Can I choose my own therapist on the team?
The be in the driver's seat of their own therapy. Your therapist will be there to anchor and support you as a guide when you need direction, but ultimately you are the expert and the one in charge of your therapy. Expressive Arts Place is a group practice comprised of clinicians who share similar values and philosophies. While each member brings their own personal flavor to the work, all approaches are rooted in a social justice orientation that recognizes and hopes to overcome barriers that prevent individuals from receiving the mental health care they need and deserve. |
