The mission of Expressive Arts Place is to utilize the arts as a means for addressing the needs of individuals, groups, and communities in the areas of health, education, and overall quality of life; as well as to bring people and communities together.
"Making room for the arts in health, wellness, and education"
Expressive Arts Place was established in 2015 to provide health and education services to international communities through the arts. While we officially formed as a company in 2015, our programs began running in 2013, and for the past several years we've offered various collaborative art programs in local and international communities to educate children about mental and emotional health, bring educators in the communities together to collaboratively work on strategies for integrating more creative art approaches into classroom curriculum, and to train graduate and undergraduate students interested in working internationally to facilitate meaningful conversations and connections through the arts. Each year our programs serve approximately 100 elementary school children, collegiate level students, and teachers. Our programs for children and teachers are currently based in Haiti and are connected (running concurrently) to our program in Massachusetts for graduate and undergraduate students.
